Mulled Hibiscus Assam

This blend of Assam black tea, hibiscus, cinnamon, star anise, and orange peel offers a warm, tart, tannic profile with the powerful anti-inflammatory properties of elderberry to give you a little extra support. I originally created Mulled Hibiscus Assam to rival the enjoyment of mulled wine, and it quickly became a personal favorite. It's positively refreshing iced with fresh orange slices for a convincing mock sangria, and comforting served hot as an aromatic, alcohol-free mulled wine. If you see me walking around town on a 10°F day (or bundling up for Carolcade), I’ll almost certainly have a steaming thermos of this tea in hand. Robust, flavorful, and unmistakably cozy, it has that warm-you-from-the-inside-out quality I crave in winter. While delightfully tart on its own, I love it best with a touch of local honey.

More About Our Teas
Brewing Instructions
Herbal Teas: Brew 1-2 tbsp of loose tea per 1 cup of boiling water. Cover and steep for at least 10 minutes. For teas that contain roots or bark, steep time should be at least 15 minutes to achieve full flavor.
Unlike traditional camellia sinensis teas, herbal teas can and should be left to sit in the water. This will release even more benefits of the herbs, as well as other layers of flavor. Herbal teas may be re-steeped and enjoyed 2-4x.
Black Teas: Brew 1 tbsp tea with 1 cup of 200–212°F water. Steep for 4-5 minutes.
Green & White Teas: Brew 1 tbsp tea with 1 cup of 175-185°F water. Steep for 3-4 minutes for green tea, and 2-3 minutes for white tea.
