Dark Matter is designed for those who want the ritual of a dark brew without caffeine. It’s a dense, functional botanical brew crafted from roasted roots, medicinal mushrooms, cacao, and adaptogenic herbs, supporting resilience, immunity, and steady, grounding energy.

At first glance, Dark Matter is a tea performing excellent coffee cosplay: earthy, bitter, toasty, and tannic, with subtle notes of fruit and spice. No single flavor dominates. Its opaque chocolate-brown hue reinforces the illusion of coffee, inviting the senses to be tricked. This is a cup for someone seeking not just a coffee replacement, but an experience—an opportunity to savor the nuances of every ingredient. That’s what the obsessive in me aimed to achieve.

But Dark Matter is more than a coffee-esque ritual. It’s a truly functional, medicinal elixir. Adaptogenic herbs work quietly to support immune health (astragalus, elderberry), stress resilience and nervous system balance (chaga, reishi, ashwagandha), and digestive and metabolic function (dandelion, chicory). This is the unseen force of Dark Matter: a full-bodied tonic packed into a single morning cup, minus the jitters.

I personally enjoy Dark Matter black, though it’s equally delightful with a splash of creamer and a touch of sugar or maple syrup. This release is a small, experimental batch to see how people connect with it, which is why I am introducing the 1oz size option. Quantities are extremely limited.

Decaffeinated.

More About Our Teas

Brewing Instructions

Herbal Teas: Brew 1-2 tbsp of loose tea per 1 cup of boiling water. Cover and steep for at least 10 minutes. For teas that contain roots or bark, steep time should be at least 15 minutes to achieve full flavor.

Unlike traditional camellia sinensis teas, herbal teas can and should be left to sit in the water. This will release even more benefits of the herbs, as well as other layers of flavor. Herbal teas may be re-steeped and enjoyed 2-4x.

Black Teas: Brew 1 tbsp tea with 1 cup of 200–212°F water. Steep for 4-5 minutes.

Green & White Teas: Brew 1 tbsp tea with 1 cup of 175-185°F water. Steep for 3-4 minutes for green tea, and 2-3 minutes for white tea.
